A&O Part 2: Summer/Autumn Admission (Two Days)

- Start your journey at UW by meeting your Orientation Leader and fellow new Huskies! You will receive an overview of A&O, learn about UW culture, and introduce yourself during this first Connection Group.
- Break | 8:45 a.m.

- Conversation with Faculty | 9:00 a.m.
- Hear from a current UW faculty member about classroom expectations, academic success, and how to build an academic support network. Get excited to ask faculty your burning questions about all things college learning related!
- Conversation with UW Leadership | 9:30 a.m.
- Engage in a conversation with UW Leadership and the Student Conduct office about our expectations for you as a first-year student. You will learn all about the UWs code of conduct!
- Registration Foundations | 10:00 a.m.
- Meet your assigned advising team to learn about course selection. Learn the basic components of earning a degree at UW and create a plan for exploring classes related to your academic interests. This will prepare you for course registration.

- Hear from your Orientation Leader to learn the detailed process of registration and discuss various resources you will use to register for classes this afternoon and beyond. After the presentation, there will be a chance for some Q&A!
Day 2
Start and End Time: 7:00 a.m.–12:45 p.m. (Pacific Time)

- Reconnect with your Orientation Leader to learn how they have explored campus resources to build a healthy school-life balance. Discover how you can do the same as you start at the University of Washington.
- Break | 7:45 a.m.

- Student Success as an International Student | 8:00 a.m.
- Hear from CIRCLE, the Center for International Relations & Cultural Leadership Exchange as they discuss the International Student experience at UW. You’ll also learn more about Regional Connection Groups and other resources and programs to support your transition.
- Course Registration | 8:30 a.m.
- Meet with your assigned adviser and register for your first quarter of classes as a Husky! Most course-registration sessions will take place in a small group setting. Focus your questions on the upcoming quarter—your adviser will be available after A&O to help you plan future quarters! Be sure you understand how to schedule a follow-up appointment after A&O for any additional needs.

- Meet with your community group to learn about UW traditions, A&O Part 3, and plan how to engage in campus culture. Listen to some final announcements and learn about next steps to take after A&O.

- Meet with your fellow Huskies in a large group to discuss health and well-being resources at UW with Peer Health Educators.
- Q&A with student staff | 11:00 a.m.
- Connect with one of FYP’s student staff to discuss any questions you have.
- EPE Connections: Academic Success | 11:00 a.m.
- For Engineering Undeclared Students Only: Connect in a small group with an Engineering Peer Educator who has been in your shoes to hear their insight about registration, E-FIGs, and the engineering student experience, and ask your questions.

A&O Part 3: Summer/Autumn Admission
Start and End Times Vary. View the reservation confirmation email for your detailed agenda location on-campus.To fulfill your A&O requirement, you must attend all sessions throughout the day. The agenda times fluctuate depending on your assigned groups. Most schedules include the following elements, although some departments may vary.
- Orientation Leader Small Group Meeting: Community Group: Dialogues, Dawg Daze & Belonging
- Join your small group to engage in the UW Dialogue Initiative, preview Dawg Daze events, and win a husky prize. You will receive an overview of the day, set goals, and introduce yourself. Bring your questions and concerns (if any) about navigating the first few weeks of school.
- Advising Component #1: Advising Connection Meetings
- Meet with academic advisers to ensure that you are identifying tools for academic success.
- Advising Component #2: Academic Success Tours
- Join us in exploring key locations on campus that will help guide you in your academic journey at the UW.
- Preparing for the First Day of School (Self-Guided)
- Throughout the day, please make sure to visit various offices to ensure that you are prepared for the first day of school.
- Find Your Classes (Self-Guided)
- Take this time to physically visit all of your class locations for the quarter. Plan out your route and ensure you know the correct building entrance.
