Welcome to the Pack! As a first-year student, you will have a welcome package to assist in your transition to the UW.
We want to ensure that you have a smooth transition and look forward to meeting you on campus. When you receive your welcome package, in addition to the Parent & Family Guide, you will find the following items to help you along your journey. Please do the following with the items:
When you attend the Advising & Orientation Pt.3 Community Connection meeting, you will receive your New Husky Coin and Backpack.
The New Husky Coin symbolizes your journey to the UW and the values we embody as a community: Loyalty, Industry, Faith, and Efficiency (LIFE). The four columns from our original building represent these values. Touching one of the columns that resonate with you as a new husky is a long standing new husky tradition. As a new Husky, we ask you to select a value that holds true for you. We pass the coin to you, and during your first year, we ask that you pass the coin to someone who has supported you through this transition.
