It is the expectation that you fill out and complete every item on each shift checklist.
If you are unable, please leave a note on the Trello card "Shift Checklist Items Leftover" for the next person on shift.
**These checklists have more detailed instructions than the printed ones at the front desk.
Opening Shift
HOMEBASE
- Clock in (Opening Shift begins at 8:00 AM) (7:00 AM in Summer)
- Clock Out
KITCHEN
- Put away dishes in drying rack
- Check paper amounts in RICOH copier (refill if necessary)
FRONT DESK
- Turn the display monitor TV on by pushing the bottom button on the right hand side.
- Log into the display monitor computer (located under the desk directly under the printer).
- Log on using the FYP@uw.edu username & password
- Turn on the laptop next to the printer and open up fyp.washington.edu/phone for phone agent
- Select music (either with Pandora or your own Spotify- clean versions)
- Pandora log in:

- Start Front Desk Slideshow & Press F11 to make full screen

- Open MS Teams
- Username: your UW Email
- Password: NetID password
- Check Front Desk Phone Voicemail (You have to log-in, it won’t show there are messages)
- Log voicemail information here: fyp.washington.edu/phonelog (keep this open your entire shift to document all phone calls)
- Be prepared to write down: Date, Name, Phone Number, Reason, Action, your initials
- Dial 79898
- Press #, then 2216017
- Input the password, 999991
- To listen to new messages, press 1 and then 1 again
- Delete it by dialing 7

- Open all required tabs on the computer under “Front Desk Tabs” folder
- Log into Phone when it's time for the office to open
- On the face of your phone you have the “OK” button surrounded by the four arrows.
- Push left arrow twice until you see a screen that says “Log In”
- Select “Log In”
- You’ll hear beeping, then the screen will return to the main screen.
- Push left arrow once.
- You will come to a screen that has three options
- Highlight “Open/Auto-In”and click “OK”
- You know you have logged in successfully when a plus sign in a green circle appears in the top left of the display.
OR - On the main screen there is an option that says “Log In”. Select the clear button on the phone next to it.
- The phone will make a beeping sound and will return to the main screen.
- Select the option “Open” underneath “Log In”.
- Stay on top of FYP email and aim to clean out the inbox during your shift. Respond appropriately and once you’ve responded, file the email away in the appropriate folder.

Middle Shift

- Check Dish Duty schedule and do dishes if the arrow is on “Students”
- Check on cleanliness of kitchen
FRONT DESK

- Deliver Mail to mailboxes (Pro Staff by MGH 120B & StuCo’s by middle column)
- Check for mail deliveries and pick up (MGH 093)
- Label any program food that is in the kitchen with the date using a permanent marker
Closing Shift
HOMEBASE
- Clock in
- Clock Out (Closing Shift ends at 5:00 PM) (5:30 PM in Summer)
KITCHEN
- Turn off kitchen light (Only if you are the last one in the office)
- Wipe down sink if it has food remnants in it
- Organize and wipe down kitchen counter
FRONT DESK

- Turn of Laptop next to the printer
- Turn off all computers at the Front Desk
- Organize Front Desk, including cleaning up all sticky notes & paper & shred the paper out in the shred basket
- No Student Information Should be left on the desk!
MISCELLANEOUS
- Mail- deliver and pick up (MGH 093)
- Vacuum- Front Entrance & SA Area (Located in 120A)
- Sanitize all surfaces
- Hang posters and remove any expired/unapproved posters
- Be sure projector in conference room is turned off
- Empty all recycling and trash bins in main office
- Turn off all lights
- Reset Conference Room & Replace and fill the water in the Water Pitcher
