A guide for navigating Dawg Daze and finding events that connect with your background, interests, and identities.
This student-created guide has been made to highlight Dawg Daze events tailored to a specific student population at UW. We believe in fostering an inclusive and diverse community where every student feels welcome and engaged. If you have ideas for additional guides or events that should be featured, please reach out to us at dawgdaze@uw.edu or on the First Year Programs website to provide anonymous feedback. Nestled in between downtown Seattle and the Central District, Capitol Hill is one of Seattle’s most eclectic neighborhoods. A hodgepodge collection of shops, restaurants, rainbow flags, and iconic Seattle venues, Capitol Hill is seen by many as the center for experiencing “the scene.” Explore some of Seattle’s most interesting stores, coffee shops, and more as you take in the culture. What’s more—you can get there in less time than it takes to choose a filter on Instagram (4 minutes from UW Station to Capitol Hill Station via Link light rail!). (more dates on the event page)
Join Q Center staff for arts & crafts/jewelry making while learning more about our offered programs.
Come join Modality UW to paint or collage on CDs and create your own decor for your living space! Modality is an RSO that centers BIPOC who identify as LGBTQ+. Bring some friends to Gayme Night at the Q Center in the Husky Union Building (HUB). We’re located on the 3rd floor across from the elevator and to the left of the D Center (Deaf & Disability Center), in suite 315. We’ll have video games going and board games available! The event will begin at 6:30pm and end by 8pm. All students are welcome!
Join the Q Center staff for an info session about all we have to offer LGBTQIA+ students and community at UW! Learn about our programs and services, free year-round resources available to all students, and what new visions we’re cultivating in what it means to center queer justice and advocacy. If you’re looking for community and spaces to explore your identities, please connect with us! (More times and dates on the event page)
