Visit popular UW Libraries including Odegaard Undergraduate Library and Suzzallo & Allen Libraries and learn about library resources and services available to UW students. Complete the tour and enter yourself into a drawing for a $20 e-gift card.

What did this landscape look like before it became home to the University of Washington? How has it changed since the first building was built here 125 years ago? Which histories have been popularized by those in power, and which have quietly been forgotten?

The Husky History Exploration highlights ten landmarks significant to the university's natural, indigenous, colonial, and political histories. Visit these spaces in any order, and learn about the University of Washington's past and present. Collect stamps at each location on the Husky History Passport you received at check-in! You can turn in your completed passport at the First Year Programs office (Mary Gates Hall 120) for two exclusive vinyl stickers that will allow you to show your Husky pride. The Husky History Exploration can also be accessed on our website!

Pen and Ink Politics: Polarization & the Pandemic, 9:00 am–5:00 pm

Pen & Ink Politics is an exhibition of editorial cartoons illustrating the different perspectives on the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2020 Presidential Election. Featuring the work of cartoonists from around the country and the world, its purpose is to emphasize the intensity of the discourse on these issues while providing a forum for open discussion.
Venture through this self-guided exhibit and explore our timeline of cartoons starting with the emergence of a mysterious virus in January 2020 through the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Take a moment to leave your mark, sharing your reactions to the exhibit and the events of 2020.

Join Owen Oliver for a walking tour of Indigenous spaces and presence on the University of Washington campus! Owen Oliver is the author of the Indigenous Walking Tour at the University of Washington, a 40-page booklet highlighting Indigenous histories and the physical artworks, structures, and places that represent these legacies today. Owen comes from the Chinook people of the Lower Columbia River and the Isleta of the Southwest Pueblos, and graduated from the UW in Spring 2021 with a double major in American Indian Studies and Political Science. Brockman Memorial Tree Tour Walkthrough, 3:00 pm–5:30 pm

Are you someone who feels the need to hug every tree you come across? Are you a fan of getting to know green spaces? Exploring whether an environmental path is right for you at the UW? This event is a walkthrough of the Brockman Memorial Tree Tour. Newly renovated, this tour was designed to show off a subset of the more than 480 tree species which grow on the UW campus. This walking activity will depart from the large wooden bus shelter just West of Anderson Hall on the south side of NE Stevens Way and incorporate 70 species of magnificent trees . From the starting point we will depart on a roughly 2.5 mile easy paced walk around campus led by some of the designers of the updated tree tour, who will be sharing fun facts about the trees and providing guidance on how to use the tour resources. Participants are welcome to do as much or as little of the tour as they wish. The tour will initiate and conclude at the same location.
