The First-year Interest Group (FIG) program works closely with staff in various departments to support direct admit FIGs.
Direct Admit to Engineering Undeclared (ENGRUD) FIGs
The Engineering FIG (E-FIG) program began in 2018 as a response to the College of Engineering direct to college shift. The Undergraduate Engineering Advising team oversees the Engineering FIG program through an intentional partnership with the FIG program. Engineering Peer Educators (EPEs) and FIG Leaders develop the necessary skills for their roles as peer educators. Both programs connect new students to a peer educator and support them in their first-year transition.

Direct Admit to Informatics (INFO) FIGs
The Direct Admit to INFO FIG program began in 2023 as a response to increased incoming cohort numbers to the Informatics major. The FIG Program oversees the Informatics FIG Leaders and collaborated with the Informatics advising staff to be guest speakers in the course on the topics of academic advising. Direct Admit Informatics students then take the INFO 290 seminar "Orientation to Informatics" in the winter quarter of their first year.
