First Year Programs partnered with the Center for Communication, Difference, and Equity to host an “Interrupting Micro Aggressions” workshop for First-year Interest Group (FIG) Leaders. The workshop was led by Dr. Ralina Joseph and inspired by the UW Race & Equity Initiative. FIG Leaders will share the nine tactics to interrupt a micro aggression with their first year students this fall in their General Studies 199: The University Community course.
Throughout the training several students shared how they will interrupt daily micro aggressions.
"I heard student having animated conversations together, and I think the "interruptions" will infiltrate their everyday lives." - Dr. Ralina Joseph
