We are excited to continue to support first-year students in their transition to the University.
To honor the complexities each student may experience, we are moving forward with an experience that provides online, live on zoom, and in-person engagement in a scaffolded model throughout the transition period. We will focus on the delivery of transitional programming using a new format involving online, live zoom, and on-campus engagement efforts.

We tell students that Pre-A&O Modules are required to attend an in-person A&O Session.
Below is the communication process.
- Students check that they understand modules are required in the A&O Reservation.
- Students are emailed a reservation confirmation with the pre-ao link.
- Immediately after registering for A&O
- 2 weeks before their session
- 1 week before their session
- Students are sent a direct email if they have not completed the pre-modules on the following timeline.
- Subject line: Only [3 or 7] Days Left to Complete Pre-A&O Modules
- Seven days before their A&O date
- Three days before their A&O date
- Text messages by the ol (only if they have opted into texting)
- We do have an option to place a hold on a student's account; we have not done so at this time. If you are noticing students are missing information, please contact our staff.
