I love how multi-faceted Udub is! Everyone's working on such unique and cool things. I love to see all these disciplines in conversation with one another.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
The Fall Fling during Dawg Daze is a must-see event! It's not everyday that a concert comes to you!
What do you love about the University of Washington?
The people that I've met here have made it home and created a community that allows me to thrive within my major and my extracurriculars.
What advice do you have for new students?
Talk to as many people as you can—just saying hi helps you meet so many new people!
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
One of the best must-have experiences for new students is football games during the fall; they are a great way to immerse yourself in Husky pride!
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot on campus is the second floor of the ocean sciences building. The ambiance makes it the perfect study spot coupled with the great view of the water.
What do you love about the University of Washington?
I absolutely love the scenery and ambiance on campus, whether that be the stunning libraries, breathtaking views of the cascades, or just the calming walk to class every morning!
What advice do you have for new students?
Don't stress if you think you're not doing enough, or not having a fun time! Everybody takes their own path through college. I promise with an open mind, you'll find your own path!
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Dawg Daze! The entire welcome week is an excellent way to make friends; I know several people (myself included) who made friends at DawgDaze events.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot on campus is Drumheller Fountain. I love walking past the fountain on clear days because you can see Mount Rainier in the distance.
What do you love about the University of Washington?
I love the autonomy and the ability to forge your own path at the UW. There are multiple unique opportunities to apply to and be a part of. Coming from a small school the UW atmosphere was definitely an adjustment, but it has been extremely liberating.
What advice do you have for new students?
Try new things and get involved in clubs to find your group of people
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Outside of taking Psych 210 in person, every student should make an effort to study outside or sit in the grass either in the Quad or Parrington lawn while the sun is out. The sunsets are unmatched, the fresh air between classes is amazing, and you can meet some really cool people!
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
The Glass Room in Allen Library because in the Spring the sunlight hits the windows perfectly. This room makes me want to study!

I love the beautiful campus and its proximity to the city and various neighbourhoods.
What advice do you have for new students?
Branch out, don't be afraid :)
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Experiencing different spots around the U Village and campus!

I love the supportive community at UW and that no matter where you are there will always be a friendly face.

Don't take on too much at once!
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
I believe the UW football games are a must-experience event for new students! Being larger scales in all aspects than high school football games, the excitement and vibe of unity are also tremendous and fascinating.

There are always opportunities to explore different interests and gain different experiences.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Attending the free events by or at the hub!
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
I love the Union Bay Nature Reserve- birdwatching is my favorite hobby and you can see pelicans, herons, bald eagles, hummingbirds, and trumpeter swans throughout the year!
What advice do you have for new students?
I would advise new students to not feel afraid to venture out of their comfort zones. College is a new place full of opportunities for people to learn about themselves and others.
What do you love about the University of Washington?
I love that there's a vibrant community in Seattle, and that extends to the UW. Everyone is in the same position, and even though its not "easy" to make friends, everyone is willing and open to communicating and helping one another.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
I love studying in Paccar on a sunny day because of the natural lighting!
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Going to a football game is definitely a must-experience here at the UW, especially since our football team will be in the Big Ten Conference next year.
What do you love about the University of Washington?
The freedom it gives me within my degrees.
What advice do you have for new students?
For new students, try out a ton of unique classes in the first year! You may find something you become really passionate about!
What do you love about the University of Washington?
I love the campus. It is a beautiful location to attend college. I also love the balance between a high-quality, rigorous education and a fun public school experience, both with sports and the size of the school in general.
What advice do you have for new students?
Be patient with yourself and don't hesitate to ask for help or support.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
I love the Population Health Building because I can grab a Starbucks coffee and find a cute spot to study.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
New students MUST attend the RSO fair. It may be crowded and rainy but it is the best way to learn about all the different kinds of communities and activities that are available UW students. These clubs cover hundreds of topics, interests, identities, and anything you could think of. Go discover what is out there for you at UW!
What do you love about the University of Washington?
I love the diversity of the UW--whether it be the diversity of its students, its faculty, or its academic and social opportunities. I have found so many different communities at the UW that support my range of identities and allow me to develop new ones! I also love having the freedom to explore new academic interests in depth through the UW's diverse course selection. I feel that the UW has truly allowed me to "Be boundless".
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot on campus is the little garden between the HUB and the North Quad because it is very peaceful.
What advice do you have for new students?
Go out of your comfort zone, explore areas outside of UW, and join clubs.

Pop health! The vibes are great.
What advice do you have for new students?
Explore! Take advantage of all the opportunities you have for networking, finding new/interesting things to study, communities to join, and ultimately people to meet. The UW is a big place, but it can be made much smaller by finding "your people."
What one thing (event, class, involvement opportunity, etc.) would you say is a must-experience for new students?
One must experience event put on at the beginning of the school year is Dawg Daze! Dawg Daze offers a ton of fun events and opportunities to meet fellow incoming students. If I were to recommend one specific event, it would be the late night carnival in red square!
What advice do you have for new students?
Everyone's timing is different so don't feel pressured to do 1000 things at once, take your time, and enjoy the moment.
What do you love about the University of Washington?
One of my favorite things about the University of Washington is the beautiful campus that's close to the city but still feels peaceful and removed.
What one thing (event, class, involvement opportunity, etc.) would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Take at least one class outside of your intended area of study. It might expose you to a new area of exploration you had never considered, or it might just be interesting and fun!
What advice do you have for new students?
Put yourself out there! It’s scary at first but it’s how you make meaningful connections.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot on campus is right behind the Marine Studies Building. I enjoy the early mornings when I'm sitting along the water and reading/getting caught up on homework!
What do you love about the University of Washington?
I love how many opportunities there are to meet other people and do many things on and off campus. Especially events held by the dorms and the ability to take public transportation.
What advice do you have for new students?
Be a yes person! Talk to new people in the hallways, go to events on campus, and make study groups with new people! But remember to take time for yourself and protect your mental health.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Joining an RSO - it is such a good way to meet people and make friends! It also can give you new opportunities that you may not have been given otherwise.

What I love about the University of Washington is the endless opportunities to get involved in organizations and experiences that inspire significant change for the better.
What advice do you have for new students?
Put yourself in uncomfortable situations, it may turn out for the best.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
The Pop Health Building (Hans Rosling Center)! I'm totally biased as a public health student, but it's a super chill study spot with amazing views!

Dawg Daze. It's a way for you to meet new people and get to know about the campus a little more.

Embrace the awkwardness of meeting new people- it will pay off I promise

What do you love about the University of Washington?
The University of Washington is an epicenter of bright ideas and people. While it can be quite daunting, peers and staff push each person to their greatest potential!
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
In the spring, one of the best places to go is to the water. Head down to Saint Bread Bakery, pick yourself up a sweet treat and then head to the waterfront right across from the fisheries building where you can sit on the bright yellow, endorphin boosting, lawn chairs and watch as ducks and ducklings float across the water alongside some boats and swimmers!
What advice do you have for new students?
For new students, I think it's so important to try new things and reach out to new people! The campus is so large that no matter the result, there are always people to meet and things to do. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't go right the first time :)
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot on campus is the Marine Sciences Building. Although it is very niche, on the second floor there is a small study space overlooking the water in the marina which is super beautiful.
What advice do you have for new students?
It's okay to fail! Everyone is stressed out about everything. Millions of kids have done it before and you'll do it too!
What one thing (event, class, involvement opportunity, etc.) would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Go to Dawg Daze and dorm events!
What advice do you have for new students?
My biggest advice for new student would be to never be afraid to try something new and explore an interest. Plan for it from early if you have a busy schedule so you'll have time for fun experiences.
What do you love about the University of Washington?
I love that UW has so so many opportunities as a large public university, but also has so many ways to get involved to find your niche group. Also, love that we have an actual husky as our mascot, Dubs!
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
pop health! i love the vibes in there and getting starbucks with my friends.
What do you love about the University of Washington?
One thing I love about the University of Washington is our football games. Every home game this past season my friends and I got to the stadium early to secure front row seats in the Dawg Pack. There's nothing better than getting all dressed up in purple and gold, going to tailgates, and cheering on the huskies!
What advice do you have for new students?
There is no set "college experience!" Do not compare yourself to others!
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Try getting a campus job! It could be related to your career goals or be completely unrelated but the amount of practical skills you'll learn is unmatched. Pair that with networking and having a place on campus, you got yourself a stellar opportunity!
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
Anderson Hall's lecture room! The tall, stained-glass windows, ornamental chandeliers, and forest-like view makes up for the somewhat uncomfortable seats.
What one thing (event, class, involvement opportunity, etc.) would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Attend Dawg Daze—it's the ultimate freshman experience where you'll feel the adrenaline of people dancing and the excitement of the night carnival, truly a memorable kickoff to your college journey.
What advice do you have for new students?
Be brave and initiate conversations and sit next to (or at least in close proximity) to others in classes. Actively reach out to people whom you want to become closer with. And don't be afraid to explore things by yourself; joining clubs and going to events by yourself are some of the best ways to make new friends.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
A must for me is experiencing Windemere Cup! It’s an event so unique to UW. I would also have to include football games here!
What advice do you have for new students?
Be brave and be bold! Try, try, try again. You're never alone and you are entering into a Dawg Pack where we help one another thrive! All you have to do is ask.
What do you love about the University of Washington?
I love the beautiful campus and how close it is to shopping at U Village and eating good food on the Ave. I also love the variety of classes that are offered.
What do you love about the University of Washington?
I love how open UW is to all different kinds of people. It doesn't matter what your background is, there is always something open to you and whether it's courses, RSO's, majors, sports, Greek Life, etc, theres always something going on that you can get involved in!
What advice do you have for new students?
Explore new RSOs and communities that interest you! It's easy to feel intimidated at first because it seems like the upperclassmen know what they're doing, but remember, they've all been in your position before and look where they are now! College is a time to make mistakes, so don't be afraid to try new things :)
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
Drumheller. Something about water makes me really happy, especially when the fountain is going and the sun is out.
What one thing (event, class, involvement opportunity, etc.) would you say is a must-experience for new students?
I really love attending the fall fling every year and have a lot of fun listening to music and meeting new people!
What advice do you have for new students?
Be open minded, try everything, and enjoy your time here. It is really important to find some people who can be your own supporters, so attend the wonderful icebreakers and welcoming events to get to know who is around!
What do you love about the University of Washington?
I love how big the University of Washington is. There are so many opportunities, events, RSO's, and things to do to make your time at UW awesome.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
Grieg Garden. Very beautiful and quite place to get a moment away from the busy life UW will throw at you. Great place to sit, read a book, have a picnic, or just relax on a grass field.
What advice do you have for new students?
It's completely normal to feel overwhelmed when you first start at this large university. It might seem scary to talk to your professors or to start conversations with the people next to you, but these moments will make your experience more special. Don't be afraid to reach out or ask for opportunities!
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
Denny Field - On a sunny day, Denny Field is straight out of a movie with students laying in the sun, studying, playing spike ball, having lunch, etc.
What advice do you have for new students?
Although with the large campus, it could feel overwhelming to fit into the environment at first, there will always be a place for you, where you belong.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot on campus is Portage Bay Park, across the street from the Fishery building. It’s a nice place to decompress close to the water.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
While greek life is not for everyone, I have had a great experience with it so far. I have met so many amazing people and would not change it for anything.
What advice do you have for new students?
Do not be afraid to just do. If you see something going on or an event that will happen in the future and you want to go, don't hold yourself back. Try new things and step out of your comfort zone.

Odegaard because that is where I study with my friends

The combination of amazing greenery, great location, and diverse student body make UW such a fun school to attend!

Take advantage of every opportunity out there! Don't give up, stay consistent with showing up and you'll make friends and learn so much.

Find a club or RSO you enjoy and stick with it! UW is such a big school (literally) but getting involved with clubs and RSOs is the best way to make UW feel smaller.

IMA - very fun place to work out with friends, and they also have some good smoothies too!

The school spirit is really on another level, you can constantly find people wearing UW gear, which makes it easier to connect with your peers.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot on campus is the Allen Library! I like to go and do my work on one of the wooden desks around the window since the natural lights come in.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
I would say going to football games is a must-experience. It's filled with energy and school spirit.

At the University of Washington, I love how there are so many different communities you can be part of.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
My favorite spot on campus is the fountain, especially on sunny days when Rainier is out. Walking by the fountain reminds me of exploring campus during my first quarter at UW.
What advice do you have for new students?
Make the most of your time here, your college experience is what you make of it. Starting college can be an exciting and sometimes overwhelming experience, remember that we are all here to support you and see you succeed!

What do you love about the University of Washington?
I love the number of opportunities and activites that the school has to offer, it always feels like there are endless options for what to do at UW, so there's never a dull moment.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
The W photo. I met one of my best friends there and we will be able to be in that photo that goes down in uw history and say we were there.
What advice do you have for new students?
Failure is only a failure if you make it one. Mistakes are just opportunities to learn. Don’t be discouraged college is a learning path that’s never linear
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
Suzzalo Library is my favorite spot on campus! I feel that I study best in there, especially in the reading room!

I love how passionate and driven everyone here is. It is inspiring and makes me want to work harder and be a better person.
What advice do you have for new students?
Try anything at least once! If you have any interests in an activity, RSO, or event take that step to experience your interest to see if you would like to be more involved more in it.

Population Health! Lots of comfortable space available to study, big windows for natural light, and a coffee shop right there.

What advice do you have for new students?
Meet with your advisor once a quarter to best prepare for registration, join mentorship programs to ask advice and hear about other student's experiences!
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
I spend a lot of my time in the Odegaard Library and I really enjoy it. I like there are different seating options and though you may be alone, there are still a bunch of other people around you and that feels comforting in a way.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Sporting events at the University of Washington. Football, basketball, and softball games are something that keep me in the loop and bring the pride to being a Husky.
What do you love about the University of Washington?
I love the room for growth at the University of Washington. I intended to transfer and be only dedicated to my studies, however, I ended up wanting to join communities and experiences during my time here.
What advice do you have for new students?
Explore all that is available to you when you arrive on campus. Being bold and trying new things will always be worth it.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
I think participating in at least one Dawg Daze event is important! They are a great way to explore campus and some of the many opportunities that are offered.
What do you love about the University of Washington?
I love how pretty the campus is. It is really walkable and has a lot of really nice hidden (ish) places to journal or picnic or just hangout.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
Life Sciences Building, has great study spots and a cafe which is extremely nice for that afternoon pick me up.

Life Sciences Building (LSB) is a fantastic facility and has an amazing view. Great place to study, or do work.
What advice do you have for new students?
Change is okay! It's okay to switch things around and not know what you're doing just yet!
What do you love about the University of Washington?
There is such a diverse array of people, clubs, classes, and more at UW, I feel like there's a place where everyone fits in!
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Go to a football game! It is so amazing watching our team but also seeing how proud everyone is to go to such an amazing school.
What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
Fourth Floor of suzzallo currently, me and my friends study and Hang out there everyday, but also the cut during the warmer months, just great places to hang out with friends.
What do you love about the University of Washington?
UW has so many different opportunities available to its students! From a countless number of RSOs to undergraduate research. If there's anything you're remotely interested in, you can probably try it at UW!
What advice do you have for new students?
Embrace every opportunity to discover and define yourself at UW. This is the perfect place to make dreams come true.
What one thing would you say is a must-experience for new students?
Going to the Fall and Spring Fling concerts is a MUST! It was so amazing to so many cool artists perform sets right on the HUB lawn for free!

Look at Mt Rainier from Rainier Vista!

After a long day, I love heading to the waterfront park near the fishery building to relax and read a good book.

I love the inclusive and welcoming community at UW, which I had not encountered in my previous educational experiences. This unique environment fosters a sense of belonging.
