The U-PASS is a bus pass plus more. Loaded right onto the Husky Card, the U-PASS provides members with unlimited rides on regional buses, commuter trains, light rail and water taxis as well as full fare coverage on vanpools.

Columbia City is one of Seattle’s protected historic landmarks in the Southend. Previously ranked as the most diverse area/zipcode in the entire US. It is known for its historic district, with many of the buildings lined with early 20th century architecture, you’ll see many people strolling down the streets admiring its unique character.
Othello, just a mile or two away from Columbia City is home to many immigrant and refugee families from all over the world. It’s a community that flourishes on connecting with others, whether that’s through shared living experiences or food.

Tour Description: 

  1. Columbia City Farmers Market & Columbia Park: Every Wednesday starting in May, when the weather gets warmer opens up to the public. With fresh picked produce
  2. Columbia City Library: Opened in 1909, this library is now listed as a historic landmark on the National Register of Historic Places. With a reading room, a computer area with a skylight, and large windows throughout the branch with views of Columbia Park*.
  3. Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic: Services include pediatric medical care, behavioral health, dental services, nutrition, and much more. OBCC Othello is part of the urban community concept, “Othello Square” that brings together health and community.
  4. Othello Park: Just one block away from the Othello Light Rail Station, this park contains different amenities for children to play with as well is the site of the annual Othello Park International Festival in August, celebrating the community.
  5. Othello Commons: A learning and collaboration space for faculty, staff, students, and community partners. 

Food to Try: 

  • Flour Box: People will line up 2 hours in advance to buy these brioches filled doughnuts.
  • Geraldines Counter: Geraldine, a staple in Columbia City has a variety of diner classics to fill you up
  • Coffeeholic House: Seattle’s first Vietnamese coffee shop and it’s first location.
  • Taco Street: On Tuesdays, you can get 3 tacos for $7.50. For Seattle prices, that’s kind of a steal.
  • Billiard Hoang: The best banh mi’s in the entirety of Washington State. The sketchy exterior only adds to the authenticity of this local staple. 
  • Bang Bang Kitchen: Specializes in new Mexican cuisines, with authentic hatch chile and a full agave bar.
